Steve McNamara praised Jamie Langley after the second-rower helped power the Bulls into the Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Langley was immense as they destroyed Catalans Dragons 46-16 yesterday with an eight-try demolition.

The Great Britain man thundered through tackles, came up with some big hits, scored one touchdown and helped create another as Bradford upset the formbook to tear the French side to shreds.

McNamara said: "Jamie played the mid-season international against France last year and has been a little beset with injuries since. He's had some ups and downs but he's been really good for us these last few weeks.

"I think it was a great call for him getting the man of the match. He was really strong today and has also been helping us in the front row with us being a couple of blokes down there."

Semi Tadulala kept up his amazing scoring run with an incredible THIRD hat-trick in just seven games.

Bradford destroyed Catalans early on when Clint Greenshields was sin-binned, running in four tries in just nine minutes to open up a 24-0 lead while he was off.

The Bulls now eagerly await tonight's last eight draw as they continue their bid for Wembley and McNamara ominously added: "I think there's a whole lot more to come from Bradford this year, particularly in the second half of the season with the dry tracks.

"We enjoyed that aspect today and it suited us. It was a really good win."

There were a number of players who put in good performances in this game - and it was great to see Langley getting back to his best.

The best thing for me was to see Platt at FB and Halley on the wing.

The line-up yesterday gave us two decent wingers with good centres inside - and with Evans still to return, it looks good for the secong half of the season.

I thought the harder ground suited us better too.

really , cant say i thought that halley looked that comfy at wing and platt was ok but it wasnt a special performance. would of thought that with the pressure on his place he would of pulled out all the stops
think sykes is falling off a bit after a great start. but non of them could of played that badly as we battered them :-)

I thought that this was a quality team performance against one of the form teams in the Super League.
There were good performances all over the field and to go 24 nil up against any Super League after just 9 minutes is an outstanding performance.
We also did this without Feather, Vagana, Jeffries and Evans. We still look a bit light up front but that will be rectified when Vagana and Feather return.
I thought that Platt looked confident at full back considering the length of time he has been out and I think I would pick him over Halley at the moment.

Agree about Sykes. That right hand side looked dodgy again as Sykes keeps getting caught out of position leaving the wing exposed. Similar to what happened at Cardiff. Halley on the other hand looked quite good in defence.

Thought Solomona looked quite good. What a take from Tadulala in the first half. Langley was a deserved MOM and Tadulala deserved the hatrick - great finisher.

Big Joe back next week.

TBH I think we'd be better with Halley on the wing and Platt at the back. It gives us extra pace, Halley was good yesterday and is just as good at fullback. I think we had a very good threequarter line yesterday, even with Evans out. I'd prefer to see Burgess out of prop and into a creative position and I think we'll see Big Joe take a bench spot next week.

I think we're going to see a different Bradford side the better the weather gets. We're a lot more mobile and agile. Good run out against Cas this weekend and then the real test begins. A win against Leeds at Odsal would be just the tonic!

Halley looked good at wing, gives him the chance to use his pace. platt was solid at full back, saving a few breakaways that looked sure tries. all in all a good performance from everyone. sam just looks as though he is trying to do too much off his own back imo.

lets see what happens next time platt makes a mistake - so the next game probably. he cant keep using him if his form is the same as before he was injured/dropped. hi is a liability and i worry every time he is on the ball!

Halley should stay at fullback & when Jefferies is fit Harris should be dropped. On a lighter note did anyone notice cost cutting, no stewards, no bullmans parade & no bullettes, Only half the bars open & they were short staffed, Thank god for those tables outside lion for a nice sit in the sun & a beer

Most people agree Platt at F/B Halley on wing. Once they slot into their positions (i.e.Platts first real game for weeks and Halley to get used to right wing and his centres) I am sure we have a better balanced side and many more options (although LJ seems to think there's a new rule which means you must have 2 props a Hooker and a Backrower on the bench) which could make things a little more difficult!

Haitch I am affraid I am of a simular position to LJ then because I feel that you should have at least 2 props & in some games 3 on bench because you have to grind it out although Newton is big enough to use as a 3rd prop if required. Someone like Nero can cover 2nd row or centre as can Hape who has proved that at international level.

Your dead right but there may be occasions (against diferent teams) where you could use an extra back from the bench if you wish. It is not mandatory to use players of any specific position from the bench as LJ inferred. We are very lucky to have players who can play back-row or prop..or backrow and centre. Remember, playing two Hookers is a fairly modern practice.I was just teasing LJ a bit though!!
