David Wetherall needs you - to buy a City season ticket.

Wetherall is the public face of the club's drive to make sure fans beat the June 15 deadline for the 9,000 target that will trigger the "buy one, get one free" offer.

The face of the newly-retired skipper appears on stickers depicted as City's version of Lord Kitchener in a reworking of the famous World War One slogan "Your country needs you."

Season-ticket sales have passed the 4,400 mark, including over 3,400 adults. City have noticed an upturn since the curtain came down last week and are hoping that momentum will quickly build up.

They are keen to avoid a last-minute scramble as the £150 season-ticket offer approaches its deadline.

Head of operations David Baldwin said: "Sales have picked up after the end of the season and it's better to have a steady flow than a massive late influx.

"There's no need for us to be 25 deep at five desks on the final day. We're here and open for business from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday as well as weekends."

Every fan who buys a season ticket will be given a free Wetherall sticker - and the chance to win prizes.

City will have a team of spotters around the area looking for the stickers on display.

"We're going to put 50 prizes up for grabs that will be drawn on June 15," added Baldwin. "They will be gifts that fans enjoy from the very small ones like a Bradford City mug to a signed shirt or even a full refund on your season ticket.

"The competition is open to anybody who buys a season ticket. Those who've already got one just need to show their voucher at the ground and they will get a sticker."

City are keen to keep the season-ticket push in the public eye and have enlisted the help of a group of fans, who have produced their own poster. The supporters were due to start distributing copies today around pubs, clubs and houses.

City are also planning an open weekend, giving supporters the chance to look behind the scenes at Valley Parade.

The club have been operating on last year's ticket database and are aware that a number of fans have not received an application form. They are available direct from Baldwin, who is also laying on 2,000 blank forms at the ground from a distribution point away from the ticket office windows.

Ticket office weekend opening times up to the deadline will be: 9am to 2pm for the next three Saturdays and 10am to 2pm on those Sundays. Then from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, June 7 and 14 and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays, June 8 and 15.

  • Five hundred commemorative David Wetherall posters will be available from Tuesday for £2. There will also be a few special editions signed by the first-team coach priced £10.

The funny thing about this is that I have been thinking the same thing. Right, I for one will not be drawn by idiots on this board anymore. If I choose to ridicule them I will do so in my own way, in my own time, but direct responses to these little girls will now be a thing of the past. All on a level again now Waynus, back to being a poster with a point rather than a pointless poster a la Shaun, sensless and their pet, skippy.

Fair point, you didn't actually say you wanted a fight, but you certainly insinuated it.

we could take our discussion into Myrtle Park and thrash it out good and proper. Accept and I will certainly turn up so you can enlighten me on your viewpoint and I can unburden mine upon you. That is a good offer. It really is free and you don't need to buy anything, well not before we meet. but nothing that would last overly long or cause too much noise. One is usually enough for someone to have a different viewpoint, even if it is looking up from a sitting position.

If the above wasn't a 'hidden' threat, I don't know what is.

Keep it clean and if you can't, I suggest you simply ignore him. It isn't worth lowering yourself to his level, even if you do 'hide it'. </b>
I can't see how it is any problem of yours, but direct questions asking for direct answers from sensless don't seem to work. why doesn't anyone try 'hiding' it, as Waynus describes it. Veiled is the term usually used if it is a threat but the offer of a pint and a walk to thrash out our differences could be described as neither. </b>
You seem to have a thing about me Gentleman Jim. I don't know what it is or how I seem to offended you. I have just been reading all your recent posts directed to me or about me and none could be seen as positive. In fact, if I said it had rained on Saturday, the way you are at the moment, you would disagree and say it was beautiful. What is our problem?

The reason I asked you not to resort to those levels (hidden or not) is that I respect most of your posts and wouldn't like to see you driven to the levels of 'Sensible' and his cronies.

It would be a shame if your posts were reported and you were booted off this website, whilst the scum get to stay on.

As I said previously, ignore tem rather than offering to meet them and 'thrash' it out. You are better than that. You are clearly an intelligent person, so think of another way of shutting them up.

Thank you Mr Baldwin. That is all I wanted to do, was bring attention to the quality of the service provided by the stewards the club hire, what I have experienced on a couple of occasions, but more often, what I have witnessed. If I know they have a job to do, and if I see them get a little lets say heavy handed to people that ARE causing trouble I have no qualms at all. But in general as you can see on here from other people making comments, they do have a reputation amongst City supporters and from outside from away from Valley Parade. I am glad you are investigating this and I do hope something positive will come of this and will improve people's experience at Valley Parade, for both home and away supporters. Sorry for my late response to yours as I am rarely online on an evening and never in during the day.

Regards to other posters, I can not understand the aggression towards people like Shaun and Mr Sensible. I just cant understand why some people got so uptight with me bringing this into the open about the levels at which we, I mean by the people do go to matches, past present or future in to be treated fairer and better. I guess the only people that would moan at that are the actual stewards, who else would get so aggresive to me for pointing out something that needed addressing for the betterment of Bradford City and in general the way supporters are treated. And for the last time, I did go by the correct channels originally by contacted the club, but to no avail. So I had no option to bring this into the public, and that is what I shall do, and if anyone else has an ounce of self respect, they will no longer put up with this oppresion.

Direct questions have been put to sensible, shaun, skippy and anyone who has questioned the running of BCFC, but none have come back with any answers? The operations manager? David Baldwin has even offered his services to the disgruntled few, and NONE of have had the decency to contact him. How many football club officials have joined in on pages like these and offered solutions to peoples gripes.... ? That is awesome work Mr Baldwin. I reckon you won't be hearing from the people involved though. They wouldn't listen to what you say anyway.... proven on here.

You and yer mates are not welcome, now who's the prat here? You? Shaun? Who? I suggest you read the comment and who they are from before attacking me. You are not clever enough to win any argument on here. You have nothing constructive to say and don't answer the questions put to you.

And as Senseless knows you are allowed to say anything in the name of free speech and even allude to something as long as it is ambiguous enough and not a direct attack on an individual or group. Mine was simply an offer to meet for a pint and a discussion, and a short walk in the park afterwards. I wouldn't offer to fight any female so Senselass is safe, maybe a Backgammon match or even a couple of boards of Scrabble, but I ain't never hit a woman and don't intend to start with this pathetic creature. </b>
