A Green Man Trail' has opened at Bolton Abbey. It is hoped the new trail, which offers visitors the chance to spot mythical "Green Men" on a two-mile woodland walk, will add to the enjoyment of a family day out.
Moira Smith, Bolton Abbey's visitor manager, said: "Green Men are mythical characters crafted from wood or stone. They are commonly found in churches but are thought to pre-date Christianity as the God of spring and summer."
