Lynch: We're not far off
 |
| Andy Lynch is looking for the Bulls to repeat their peformance against Huddersfield tomorrow |
Confident Bulls prop Andy Lynch today maintained: We're heading in the right direction.
They go up against rock-bottom Castleford tomorrow bidding to secure a fourth Super League victory in five games.
Such a record would please most but Bradford know they have much more to give having switched off' during those successes and suffering four defeats on top.
"Everyone would love to go out and produce the perfect performance every week," Lynch admitted. "The reality is that doesn't happen. You go through patches like any team, whether it be through back-to-back sets, penalties, discipline or dropped balls.
"All you can do is look to cut those things out to make it easier on yourselves. That's the target tomorrow."
The Great Britain front-rower added: "Our aim every week is to get two points and improve as a team.
"We've got to keep doing that. It's basically down to us and no one else.
"Coaches can only teach us so much and they're doing their job right.
"They're not playing on that field though. It's the 17 players who go out there that do.
"The consistency we showed against Huddersfield in round two was a pretty good performance and we need that again.
"There have been some ugly victories but we've still won three out of our last four games; we're not too far off."
The form of Lynch has been one aspect of the Bulls' performance that hasn't dropped.
He has put in some massive stints up front since they lost fellow enforcer Joe Vagana to a broken arm.
It has been a difficult ask replacing the giant Kiwi's go-forward', especially over the hectic Easter period, and Lynch has taken up much of the slack. But the former Cas favourite insisted: "It's hard for everyone. We all have to step up and take that extra responsibility now Joe's not there. It's not just one, it's on every pack member."
Powerhouse Lynch made his 100th appearance for the Bulls in the win over Warrington a fortnight ago.
He arrived at Odsal from the Tigers when they were relegated in 2004 and has been a roaring success.
The 28-year-old, who has notched 21 tries in that time, admitted: "It's just flown by. I never even realised I'd played 100 matches until you mentioned it."

At least he won't have to face the dreaded Wayne Chambers just yet (what a publicity stunt that is) Northern once did it with a sprinter Berwynn Jones I remember him racing down the wing in I believe a Semi Final at headingly and he as so quick he blitzed everybody. Trouble was he dived in at the corner when he could have walked under the sticks Northern missed the goal and lost the match by a odd point. He wasn't around long!!
