    Hague set to launch campaign

Shadow Foreign Secretary William Hague MP is due in Bradford today to launch the Conservatives local election campaign in the district.

Mr Hague, who is also president of the Bradford Conservative Association, will be joined by Bradford Council Tory leader Councillor Kris Hopkins, local group members and Conservative candidates standing in the local government elections on May 1.

He was last in the city at the end of January to address business leaders.

The former Tory party leader will be hoping to add his weight to the campaigns of Conservative candidates in the district, which include a number of high profile councillors whose seats are up this year.

These include Coun Hopkins himself as well as executive members, Councillors Colin Gill, Anne Hawkesworth and Dale Smith.
