| SOAP STAR: Jennifer Metcalfe enjoys a drink with her aunt, Joan Johnson, behind the bar at Soccer City in Thornton |
Actress and model Jennifer Metcalfe is urging fellow Bradfordians to vote for her in the 2008 British Soap Awards.
Jennifer, Mercedes McQueen in soap opera Hollyoaks, has been shortlisted in the sexiest female category.
But she faces tough opposition from the likes of Adele Silva (Kerry Windsor in Emmerdale), Kym Ryder (Michelle Connor in Coronation Street), and Samantha Janus (Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders).
Jennifer was back in her home city yesterday to visit family and friends.
The 24-year-old, who lived in Holme Wood until last year, said: "I love coming back to Bradford because I have lived most of my life here. It's brilliant to be nominated in this competition, even if it doesn't go any further."
Jennifer went to St Columba's First School, in Bradford. She worked as a fitness instructor at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, in Odsal, and Thornton Recreation Centre.
You can vote for Jennifer at britishsoapawards.tv.

"all Bradford should support BRADFORDIANS whatever they are doing"
Was a bit of a stupid comment too make was it not? You only have to look at some of the other articles over the last couple of days to see that you would not want to support all Bradfordians.
Still if the love of your life is TV soaps so be it - the remaining 40m or so people in the country who do not watch probably agree with Albion "Never heard of her" regardless of where she is from

I dont know if i should wish her good luck or not, i cant understand why anyone would want to win this award.
