Bulls won't cut corners for licence

| Peter Hood admits applying for a Super League licence has been a huge undertaking |
Chairman Peter Hood will hand-deliver the Bulls' Super League licence bid and admits: We're taking nothing for granted.
All clubs wanting top-flight status next season must submit a formal application to the RFL by Monday.
There is no promotion or
relegation this year but, from 2009, only clubs awarded a licence' will take part in Super League.
They have to meet a number of standards concerning
criteria such as stadium facilities, financial
performance and playing strength and a decision is expected to be made in July.
Although traditional giant Bradford are expected to be one of 14 sides included - increased from 12 - Hood insists they are not resting on their laurels.
Together with general
manager Ryan Duckett, finance controller Francia Herbert and player
performance manager Paul Medley, he has exhaustively put together the Bulls'
application, which amounts to 25 files and more than 300 pages of data.
He and Duckett will
personally deliver it early to RFL headquarters at Red Hall on Thursday and Hood said: "It has taken a huge effort.
"We have approached it like a tender bid for a contract and given it 100 per cent, taking absolutely nothing for granted.
"The Super League is now bigger than any one club. It can survive without any of them - whether that be Bradford, Leeds, Wigan or Castleford - and nobody is greater than the competition itself.
"The facts are in some areas we are deficient, such as in terms of the stadium and having points deducted for salary cap breaches.
"But on the other side of the coin we're operating profitably and traditionally we've performed very well in Super League, while our youth policy is proven.
"I'm confident our bid will rank alongside anyone else's but we are aware - with around 20 potential applicants - there are going to be six disappointed clubs."
Toulouse, Celtic Crusaders, Widnes, Salford City Reds, Halifax, Leigh and Doncaster are all believed to have put their names in the hat for the three-year licences as well as each of the existing 12 Super League clubs.

Where is the money for all the new seats that are required to come from ? I have also heard that the application to be submitted states the venue as VALLEY PARADE, am told Odsal would need another stand with seats to meet all the criteria and that this is not possible as it rests on the on going stadium development at Odsal going ahead (yeah right )

We are going to play at valley Parade because Odsal does not have enough seats and there is no money to provide any as you well know.

Put us a roof on the popular side for starters. This would create an atmosphere. In recent weeks I have stood at the Rooley Lane end and you just cant hear any singing from the popular side what so ever. I know you all sing, but we cant hear you. A roof would help greatly as it does when you go to say Headingley or Knowsley Road. Both are simply covered terraces and yet there is no "we're not going to get a franchise" coming from the rhinos.Warrington is also simply a covered terrace. Roof for Odsal I say , start the campaign now T&A.

Do you think becuae he mentions salery cap breachs means that weve done it again this season??. we should get 6 points comfortably which would get us B status and pretty much garentee us a licence. some of you should read up and understand the new system before you start talking rubbish about moving back to VP.
And SHUAN ! you think that He should stop thinking about the long term furture of the club and concentrate on the fact that weve lost 4 games this season!! good to see that the miopic arnt shunned in socity anymore!!

Shaun get a grip! Caisley and Noble brought this club to it's knees and when they saw what they'd done they both buggered off! Hood & co are rebuilding the financial base from a catstrophic era when it nigh on went bust and the only thing that saved it is that Noble had the decency to persuade Dave Whelan to fork out a massive transfer fee for Fielden - fact.
There is NO crisis, it is not on it's knees, we've just lost a couple of big matches early in the season. Soke of the stuff getting written on here is plain daft.

Creit where it's due Shaun, CC did some great things but he and Noble are responsible for the signing of IH which has hamstrung the club and seen supporter disillusion in the last years.

You are all correct IMO. Caisley was indeed instrumental in the start of the Bulls and did great work for a time. But he was also responsible for the Harris debacle and he along with Nobby 'jumped ship' at such a bad time. To be fair, most of us thougt Harris was just what the club needed (we didn't know of his salary mind!) But he turned out to be a shadow of himself and a disaster. Hood has a huge job to do and short of a Chesea style supremo( I can't spell Roman Abramovic)I don't see where the money will come from. We are indeed a world away from Caisley, Smith, Elliott, Potter, Noble, Peter Deakin and oh yes Abi Okoku. Quite a team!!

Noble and Caisley got carried away.
There's no disputing that Caisley turned us from a Village Team to a Phenomonon, but he didn't realise when to stop.
He jumped ship over the Harris saga 'cos he knew it was gonna come back and bite us on our backsides.
On the whole though Caisley deserves a pat on the back and a pint in his hand. Been there, done that all 'cos of him.
Master stroke to entice Brian Smith to start the ball rolling.

However, times change and I genuinbely believe giving Macca our full support is in the best interests of the club and our aspirations to be back at OT in the near future.
Come on, give a good former player a fighting chance. If we're getting tanked by Leeds and Saints in September/October then he'll have to hold his hand up.
