As usual, the Grove will be closed so you can enjoy a traffic-free experience while you browse and shop. Various bands will be appearing on all market days at the bandstand to entertain you while you shop and relax.
  • A fire show and magicians are set to be the highlights of the second annual Fairy Fest in Holden Park, Oakworth , on Saturday, from 1-6pm. With stalls, storytelling and entertainment, the Fairy Fest will finish with the fire show. Workshops include drawing, competitions, tarot card readers, jugglers, singers and magicians, fancy dress and fairy trail competitions.
  • The Extreme Stunt Show on Silsden ’s car boot site, on Saturday will be action-packed with monster trucks, motorbike and BMX stunt team shows.
  • Games in the Park next weekend at Harewood House will showcase freerunning stunts and a combination of traditional games with contemporary culture and dance. If you fancy a go, there are freerunning workshops.
  • On Saturday, ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night will be frightening visitors to the Overnight Ghost Hunt at The Thackray Museum in Leeds. Its conversion from hospital accommodation to museum in 1997 seems to have stirred a great deal of energy and the building – a former workhouse – is well-known for paranormal activity.   • Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival, from Thursday to Sunday, attracts thousands of food-lovers to St George’s Square each year. From farm shops to gastro pubs, brewers to artisan ice-cream makers, there will be stalls, cookery demonstrations and a programme of workshops and entertainment.
