Next Friday is Positive Bradford day in the City Park and Centenary Square when we have a chance to celebrate all that is good about our city. There will be stalls, music and entertainment in the heart of Bradford, so go along and celebrate being a Bradfordian.

To mark National Recycle Week, Bradford City Hall is hosting a clothes swishing party next Friday at 4pm, and Saturday at 10pm. Swishing involves swapping unwanted dresses, coats, handbags or belts. For each item you take in, you can take something home. Proceeds will go to the Lord Mayor Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith’s Appeal.

The biggest gathering of Second World War military vehicles in the North of England and the biggest ever re-enactment of the Normandy battle takes place in Hunsworth Lane, Cleckheaton next Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds will be shared between the Royal British Legion and the SSAFA Forces Help. The event is on Saturday from 10am to 5.30pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm and tickets cost £6.50, £5 concessions and under-five’s free.

Tomorrow the biggest youth marching band contest in the North takes place at Horsfall Stadium, off Halifax Road, Bradford. Music Revolution runs from 10am to 5pm, and tickets cost £5 adults, concessions £3, under-16s £1, under-fives free.

Celebrate the Olympics in Ilkley next Saturday with an event consisting of a 200m and a 1.5-mile trail run with shorter distances for younger competitors. The event starts at 8.30am at Ilkley Swimming Pool, Denton Road, Ilkley.

The Diamond Jubilee Arts and Media Summer Show at Bradford College’s Yorkshire Craft Centre celebrates the achievements of students in further and higher education from the School of Arts and Media. The event runs from Thursday until June 28, 5pm to 9pm.

Wibsey Fun Fair offers a wide range of rides, from high-tech thrill rides, traditional family rides to children’s rides and a whole host of funfair games and attractions suitable everyone. The fair is on from next Friday until June 30.
