THACKRAY Medical Museum promises lots of fun activities to keep all the family entertained during the summer holidays.

Every weekday until September 2, children visiting the Leeds attraction can conduct fun medical and science experiments in a series of hands-on Science Busking workshops.

These range from extracting DNA to making a stethoscope or even creating x-ray vision.

Learning manager Liz Egan said: “Science Busking is a great way to engage children in the exciting world of science and medicine whilst having fun.

“We’ll be teaching lots of tricks that children can then take away to share with their friends and family at home.”

There will also be several family fun days during the holidays, with special appearances from the Octonauts medic for young fans of the TV show.

Octonauts Family Fun Days run on August 6 and 25, with Octonauts cartoons and crafts, guest appearances and a teddy bears’ hospital. There will be further photo opportunities as the Octonauts medic appears in the museum galleries on August 10, 17 and 23 at 11.30am and 1pm.

On August 18 there will be a special screening of the Disney Pixar film Inside Out with face painting and Inside Out themed crafts. Pre-booking is essential.
