A GARDENING society could be set up at Glusburn Institute.

The group would grow from recent talks on gardening and ongoing Funky Flowers workshops at the community and arts centre.

Sarah Golding, institute’s coordinator, plans the group as part of wide-ranging plans for the year.

She said: “My main focus this year is offering a variety of choice for all age groups, giving everyone in the community a chance to socially engage and learn new skills through our flower arranging, sewing classes, felting workshops and gardening talks.

“People can health and wellbeing by attending our yoga classes, Zumba, dance classes, seated exercise, Weight Watchers, indoor bowls, youth club, games club, and Baby Sign Language classes.

“We also are the only centre in Craven to offer Baby Sensory classes. We also run a weekly luncheon club and are getting ready to host Fallfest where Beverley Craven will be singing her Up Close and Persona l concert.”
