Poet Roger McGough is supporting the Calderdale Children’s Festival with a reading of Bad Bad Cats at the Square Chapel for the Arts in Halifax.

The reading, which takes placetomorrow at 7.30pm, is part of the launch of the Calderdale Children’s Poetry Competition.

The children’s festival, running until Sunday, features a host of family activities including climbing, archery, mountain biking, raft building and open boating.

Eureka! children’s museum will be offering free entry to Calderdale residents this Saturday and Sunday.

Activities over the weekend include juggling, dance activities and art, and there will be some special guests.
