It was written as a 15-minute ‘pop cantata’ for a London school, and now it’s one of the world’s best-loved musicals.
Next month, family favourite Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returns to Bradford (pictured), starring Keith Jack, runner-up in BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do.
The hit TV show followed Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for a star for the West End revival of his Biblical musical. The winner was Lee Mead, but Keith has also appeared in the show on regional tours and is proving to be a popular Joseph.
The retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph, his 11 brothers and that famous coat of many colours is famed for its lively score, which includes Any Dream Will Do, Close Ev’ry Door To Me and One More Angel.
* Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat runs at the Alhambra from September 20 to 25. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000.
