Musical

NEW theatrical productions of two much-loved movies are heading for the Alhambra stage.

Marking 40 years since the movie was released, the stage version of Saturday Night Fever is re-imagined in a new music and dance spectacular.

It's the story of Tony Manero and his reckless but thrilling road to dancing success. Tony and his circle of friends escape from dead-end jobs and the pressures of life in a working-class Brooklyn neighbourhood by hitting the dance floor of a local disco. But the arrival of glamorous dancer Stephanie causes friction between Tony and his dance partner, Annette.

The show features the Bee Gees hits from the movie, including Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, Tragedy and More Than a Woman as well as other 70s favourites such as Boogie Shoes and Disco Inferno.

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story is filled with the passion, romance, heart-pounding music and sensational dancing of the hit film. The much-loved story of Baby and Johnny features hit songs Hungry Eyes, Hey! Baby, Do You Love Me? and the show-stopping (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

* Saturday Night Fever runs at the Alhambra from November 20 - 24. Dirty Dancing is on from January 28 to February 2, 2019.

Tickets for both shows are on (01274) 432000.
