DAVID Hasselhoff heads up a new season at Bradford Theatres, kicking off in 2016.

Joining 'the Hoff' in the glittering line-up is singer Lulu, comic Paddy McGuinness, celebrity chef James Martin and Britain's Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey. And hot new shows, including a musical about Tom Jones and Matthew Bourne's gothic take on Sleeping Beauty, are also coming to town.

Californian actor, singer and producer David Hasselhoff shot to fame in TV shows Knight Rider and Baywatch and has since had a pop career and appeared in musicals such as Chicago.

In February he makes his debut at the Alhambra in new musical Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, playing a hedonistic Ibiza DJ struggling to keep up with the changing club scene. Described as "Friends meets Ibiza Uncovered", with a string of 90s hits, it also stars Shane Richie Junior.

Other new shows include Jackie The Musical, inspired by the comic every teenage girls loved in the Seventies, featuring hits from the Osmonds, David Cassidy and Marc Bolan; Tom: A Story of Tom Jones, tracing the veteran singer's life from the social clubs of South Wales where the Valleys boy with a big voice dreamed of the big time; and Mission Impudseyble, an interactive spy adventure starring Britain's Got Talent champs Ashleigh Butler and dancing dog, Pudsey.

There's a welcome return from Chicago, The Sound of Music, starring former Coronation Street actor Gray O'Brien, and cult classic The Rocky Horror Show, while for dance fans there's Nederlands Dans Theater 2, a new show from Strictly Come Dancing favourites Anton de Beke and Erin Boag, and New Adventures' Sleeping Beauty, setting the fairytale in the halcyon days of the late Edwardian era.

There's un-missable drama in Lord of the Flies, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and opera classics Tosca and Carmen.

The new season at St George's gets underway with the Hallé's New Year Celebration Viennese Concert and acts coming up include Sixties pop queen Lulu, belting out hits from her 50-year career, such as To Sir With Love and Shout, Heather Small, Jack Jones, and an 80s invasion by Big Country, Midge Ure, Nick Heyward and Curiosity Killed The Cat. Madness frontman Suggs looks back in My Life Story in Words and Music.

Phoenix Nights star Paddy McGuinness reflects on recent fatherhood in Daddy MacGuinness, and there's more rib-tickling fun from Ed Byrne and Shazia Mirza.

Double MOBO-winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown brings sunshine to February with her Valentine’s weekend show, featuring reggae love songs, with special guest Lemar, and the Dire Straits Experience features Chris White and Chris Whitten from the original band. Jodie Prenger stars in one-woman show Tell Me On A Sunday, and Islands in the Stream traces the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers story.

For younger theatre-goers there's We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie at King’s Hall Ilkley.

Adam Renton, general manager of Bradford Theatres, says: “Although the autumn months are only just upon us, we’re already looking forward to the spring season at Bradford Theatres. We welcome a diverse and dynamic range of productions to the Alhambra, including return visits from the Royal

Shakespeare Company, teaming up with a local amateur theatre company; Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty; and Nederlands Dans Theater 2; as well as iconic musicals, Chicago and Rocky Horror.

"We hope you will be as excited as we are about some of the long-running international musicals which make Yorkshire exclusive visits to our award-winning venue later in 2016 - Billy Elliot The Musical, Wicked and Mary Poppins.”

Tickets for all shows are on (01274) 432000.
