Inspector Drake’s Last Case
Bingley Arts Centre

FOLLOWING the success of the previous play in the sequence, Bingley Little Theatre is staging Inspector Drake’s Last Case by David Tristram.

Reprising their roles, David Helliwell as the bungling yet successful Drake and Jonathan Scott as the faithful, dim-witted Plod, once again lead the show, supported by a well-qualified cast.

In particular, Tim Gatti as the murdered woman’s son, Mr Gagarin, Rhiannon Cawthorne as a sexy Miss Duck and Phil Jordan as the blackmailed Mr Butler gave strong performances.

With twists, turns, obvious gags, slapstick and groans, director Gilly Rogers ensures it’s all there and the audience laughed at every juncture. This production is certainly good, honest fun.

Act One would have been even stronger with David Helliwell forging a quicker pace, but that is being picky.

This production is good, honest fun. You may not laugh at it all, but chances are you will be laughing somewhere along the line.

Runs until Saturday.
