“This is our largest-ever panto, with over 90 performers taking to the King’s Hall stage,” says principal Denise Lambert.

“As always with Upstagers, there will be songs to get your feet tapping, high energy dance routines, jokes and fun for all the family, with lots of audience participation.”

Dick Whittington is the much loved tale of a young man who travels to London to seek his fortune, after hearing that the streets are paved with gold. Accompanied by his cat, Dick is soon disappointed to find London a lonely place. When he meets a wealthy merchant, Fitzwarren, and his daughter Alice, Dick finds love, but the villainous King Rat conspires to come between them.

Will Dick win Alice’s heart, will he become Mayor of London, and will his cat become a champion rat catcher? Get yourself along to King’s Hall, Ilkley, to find out. The family show runs from January 23 to 31, at 7.15pm, with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2.15 pm. For tickets book online at upstagers.org.uk or call (01943) 607944.
