CAST and crew at Yeadon Charities Association are putting the finishing touches and sparkle on their production of Red Riding Hood, ready for their first audiences on Friday, January 16.

Playing the title role of Red Riding Hood, Charlotte Thornton is making her debut with the company alongside a number of other new faces.

Fiona Spencer, well known for playing Nancy in Guiseley’s production of Oliver will play Peter the Woodcutter and John Kitching, another familiar face to local audiences will play the pantomime Dame, Granny Knott. Louise Blackburn brings much humour to the part of Miss Took, the Games Mistress, a larger than life character with limitless energy.

All four have previously performed in other pantomimes in the region and bring a wealth of experience to the cast.

Another debutant, who is making a leap from his most recent role is Nigel Passey. Having starred as Jesus in Guiseley’s recent production of Jesus Christ Superstar, his transformation to the pantomime comic demonstrates his versatility.

He stars opposite pantomime favourite, Catherine Moglia, whose performance last year as Fairy Godmother received fantastic reviews.

Will Burns takes on the role of the Wolf. Much care and attention has been given to make sure he looks just right for the part and so he will be made up as a cross between Johnny Depp in his role as the Wolf in the film Into the Woods and Wolverine.

Stalwarts of Yeadon Panto, Peter Long and Frank Mottram will once again team up as the comedy duo, Reddy and Willing with Doreen Seaman making a most welcome return as Matron Bullymore to complete the cast.

The show runs from January 16-24 at Yeadon Town Hall. For tickets visit www.yeadonpanto.com or call 07785-278395.
