Musicians in link-up with Italy

Students from the Yamaha Music School in Saltaire will be joined by young musicians from Italy for a concert this month.

The Italian students are coming to Bradford on an exchange trip with the music school and will be taking part in a music workshop prior to the concert in Saltaire.

This year, the Yamaha Music School, which teaches keyboard, piano, guitar and vocals to students aged five to adults, celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Principal Rino Grice says: “Seven years ago, we were the first Yamaha Music School in the world to start an exchange programme, which has been very successful.”

The summer concert takes place at Victoria Hall, Saltaire, on Saturday, July 16. The junior concert is at 1pm and the senior concert, with the Italian exchange students, is at 7pm. For more details, ring (01274) 595954 or e-mail ymssaltaire@aol.com.
