TOP heavy metal bands are converging on Keighley for an event in aid of Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands.

Heading the line-up will be Swedish rockers, Grand Magus, following a hugely successful world tour.

They will be joined by Memoriam, which includes members of Ex Bolt Thrower and Benediction.

And others performing will include Isarnos, Valafar and Gods of Hellfire.

Organisers say Manor Fest, which takes place at Victoria Hall on May 13, will be the biggest heavy metal music festival ever held in the town.

"It will put Keighley firmly and proudly on the heavy metal map," said spokesman Wayne Jackson.

"It's surely the greatest line-up of international, national and local talent ever seen on one bill in this region, coming together to play fantastic music and raise funds for an amazing local charity.

"Manor Fest was born out of DioFest, a music event held in 2014 and 2015 to honour the late, great Ronnie James Dio on the anniversary of his death from cancer and to raise funds to assist in the fight against this horrible disease."

He said the DioFest events sold out and each raised nearly £4,000.

"It became obvious a move to a bigger venue would be necessary for subsequent years so 2017 sees DioFest renamed Manor Fest and the venue will give us greatly increased crowd capacity," added Mr Jackson.

"With greater crowd capacity came the opportunity to re-look at the list of performers and we are extremely proud to say we have some mind-blowing acts!"

Tickets for the event are £25, available from 01535 681763.

There will be a bar and food.
