Folk sensation Jackie heads to the Live Room
9:10am Friday 27th April 2012 in Leisure
By Emma Clayton, Leisure and Lifestyle Editor
The Jackie Oates Band will be performing at the Live Room in Saltaire next week.
Jackie is a big star in the UK’s current folk-pop scene. Originally a member of Mercury prize-nominated group The Unthanks, she has carved out a successful solo career.
Her second album, Hyperboreans, was produced by her brother Jim Moray and the first single from the album garnered a splash of mainstream radio play.
In 2010, Jackie performed at South by the South West festival in Austin, Texas, and last year, she released her fourth album, Saturnine, and was nominated for Album of the Year and Singer of the Year in the 2012 BBC Folk Awards.
Jackie will be at the Live Room on Friday, May 4 with her four-piece band, featuring Michael Cosgrave on accordion and keyboards, and young acoustic guitarist Tristan Seume.
Tickets are available from theliveroom.info.
