Musicians are welcome to open mic night

A new open mic night celebrating Bradford’s musicians, singers and poets was launched at city centre venue Glyde House this week.

Acoustic North is hosted by music producer and promoter Mat White, manager of independent record label BDeye Music.

The open mic night is a platform for musicians to perform in public. The first artist taking to the stage was Saltaire singer Simon P Kelly.

“It is a pleasure to bring Acoustic North to such a beautiful building in the city centre,” says Mat. “I hope the night will capture the best of Bradford’s musical heritage. The secret of a good open mic is it welcomes and respects everyone, from established musicians to bedroom guitarists.”

Adds Glyde House director David Robertston-Brown: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the very best musicians from across the region, not just from Bradford. We have a lovely venue and they have all the music industry contacts. It’s a winning combination.”

Acoustic North will take place at Glyde House on alternate Tuesdays.
