The Rat Pack are in town tonight – getting 2009 off to a swinging start.
Christmas may be over for another year, but there’s still chance to be a little festive as Frank and the boys croon their way through seasonal favourites from Baby It’s Cold Outside and Let It Snow, Let It Snow to Auld Lang Syne.
The show, which re-creates the heady days when Las Vegas was the playground of choice for Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin, sees three talented tribute acts performing with a 15-piece orchestra.
Idols of the music industry, superstars of the movies and heart-throbs on both sides of the Atlantic, Frank, Sammy and Deano partied hard. Their legendary shows at the Sands Hotel in 1960s Vegas combined music with banter, and their recordings are as popular now as they ever were.
The show stars Stephen Triffit as Ol’ Blue Eyes. The former Stars In Their Eyes contestant has won rave reviews for not just sounding like Sinatra, but also capturing his look, mannerisms and personality.
Christmas With The Rat Pack is at St George’s Hall tonight at 7.30pm. For tickets ring (01274) 432000.
