The Halle Orchestra is to perform an open-air concert in the Yorkshire Dales.

The orchestra will be joined by Sir Tim Rice, international baritone Sir Thomas Allen, Sarah Fox and Barry Banks at the concert at Giggleswick, North Yorkshire, on Saturday, June 30.

An audience of up to 10,000 is expected to descend upon the village to hear the internationally- renowned Halle play with a firework finale.

The concert will include a range of familiar favourites, including Nessun Dorma, The Pearl Fishers’ Duet, Chorus Of The Hebrew Slaves, music from the movie ET: The Extra-Terrestrial and songs from shows such as Oklahoma, Carousel and West Side Story.

The Giggleswick Choral Society will perform alongside the orchestra.

The concert will be directed and conducted by James Burton, who was choral director of the Halle between 2002 and 2009.
