Arabian nights of live music

Algerian singer Cheb Nacim will be performing during the 'Arabic musical revolution' Algerian singer Cheb Nacim will be performing during the 'Arabic musical revolution'

An ‘Arabic musical revolution’ is taking place in Bradford this winter.

A new season of music and film events from Bradford’s Tasmin Little Music Centre is guest-curated by music connoisseur Tales From Bradistan, with a selection of events reflecting old and new musical styles.

They include concerts by the Jadid Ensemble, a group of UK-based musicians trained in Arabic, flamenco and Indian music, Algerian singer Cheb Nacim (pictured) and Nizar Al Issa, who is also a passionate oud player, creating the authentic sound of the Middle East.

The season continues with the only Yorkshire date by Syrian singer Omar Souleyman, creating a jubilant dancefloor atmosphere. The iconic Arab singer returns to Europe following his appearance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
