ACTOR and singer Tom Milner impressed talent show judges with his voice during a TV performance on Saturday night.

The 24-year-old, who works at Bradford City as a match day announcer, appeared on BBC1's The Voice where he was praised by judge Ricky Wilson, frontman of the Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs.

Tom, from Northowram, Halifax, who sang Wait On Me by Rixton, told the judges about his background as an actor in Waterloo Road.

He added: "It is is a bit quiet in TV at the moment, but I have done a lot of gigging such as weddings, and I have done panto, which has been fun.

"I currently work for Bradford City Football Club, which is my pride and joy as a match day announcer.

"It is my job to get the crowd going and I announce players as well, and I always give my favourite player the biggest shout. It’s pretty cool.

"I have loved all the acting jobs I have done, but if I had to choose between singing and acting, it would be singing hands down, which is why I am here."

Ricky Wilson was impressed with his performance, telling him: "I heard your voice and thought it was very commercial sounding. It was like a safe pair of hands, but I think you have a lot more to give."

Tom started acting professionally at 13 and is a former pupil at Stardom School for Performing Arts in Shelf. He is best known for playing Paul Langley in BBC1 school drama Waterloo Road.
