TALENTED youngsters are preparing to compete in the final of this year's Bradfactor talent contest.

The final of the singing competition takes place at St George's Hall this weekend. Among the finalists are The Voodoo Bats, Seventh Storey, Polymers and Francis, singer/guitarists Mila Lee and Rebecca Price, dance acts Rivmix Elite, Alikats and Yorkshire Martyrs Pom Queens and solo singers Ellie Keenan, Phoebe Wigglesworth, Zozo Phoenix, Jessica Huxam, Laura Ashleigh and Phoebe Smithies.

The final is at St George's Hall, in Bradford city centre, at 6.30pm on Saturday. Tickets are available on 01274 432000.

The talent show began in 2008 as a one-off contest. It was organised by youth worker Zanib Thackray who was keen to highlight the talents of young people she was working with.

Paula Helliwell, who co-organises Bradford with Zanib, said: "The success of Bradfactor is down to the young people involved, and we like to help build their confidence and self belief. Having the chance to perform at St Georges Hall, with professional hosts and top class staging, lighting sound and special effects can be a big step and great experience for them."
