The official anthem of Yorkshire's Grand Depart, featuring Bradford pop star Kimberley Walsh, will be released on Monday as the countdown to the Tour de France continues.

Kimberley sings alongside Alistair Griffin on The Road - the tune that will provide the soundtrack as Le Tour cyclists arrive in the region and excitement builds across the Bradford district.

The Road will be available to download from Monday and can be pre-ordered from www.letouryorkshire.com/song and www.alistairgriffin.com. It will be played at fan parks, spectator hubs, at the opening ceremony in Leeds on Thursday, and at the Grand Departy in York on Friday.

The Yorkshire legs of Le Tour take place next Saturday and Sunday.

Alistair, who has also recorded a special version of the single with some of the 10,000 Tourmakers, said: "It’s going to be a very special weekend, and I would love for the whole of Yorkshire to hear the song being played as the world’s sporting eyes focus on the Grand Depart spectacle."

Kimberley and Alistair are due to perform at the opening ceremony on Thursday, and the former Girls Aloud singer said previously: "It is going to be a night to remember and one where we make history together, giving the Tour de France a true Yorkshire welcome. Performing at this event with Alistair in our home county is going to be a special moment for me."
