A teddy bears’ picnic will be held not in the woods, but in Bradford’s City Park. Local libraries are organising the Bookstart Teddy Bears’ Picnic tomorrow to kick off their summer activities. Children and their teddy bears are invited to bring a picnic for a free fun play day with stories and rhymes. There will be singing, crafts, face-painting and balloon modelling. A saxophone player and the Bookstart Bear will also entertain youngsters.

The Airedale Dodgers will once again lead the way at Silsden Gala on Sunday. The Airedale Hospital running group will push a bed through the village ahead of the traditional procession. The fundraising stunt will begin an afternoon of festivities with the main procession, including the Gala Queen and a pipe band, setting off at 1pm.

A family fun day celebrating food and crafts created in God’s Own Country takes place on Sunday at Oakwell Hall in Nutter Lane, Birstall. The Yorkshire Day event runs from 11am to 4pm and admission is £2, free for children.

Now in its seventh year, the Fake Festivals tour will be calling at Aireville Park, Skipton, on Saturday, bringing with it performances from some of the best tribute bands in the world, including The Fillers, Jilted Generation (The Prodigy) and Four Fighters. Also performing at the community-led event will be five local up-and-coming support bands. The Fake Festivals’ marquee boasts a main stage with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. Firework Champions on Saturday at Broughton Hall, Skipton, is now in its 12th year and features four great firework displays. Three firework companies compete against each other with ten-minute displays choreographed to music, followed by a finale display from organisers MLE Pyrotechnics.
