If mods, rockers, Lambrettas, Quant, and the Beatles evoke fond memories, then Haworth is the place you should be next weekend. The village will come alive with the sound of scooters, motorbikes, minis and other vehicles cruising in for the weekend’s festivities. There will be live music on Main Street, a record ‘hop’ and a themed dance on Saturday night – as well as other street performances and re-enactments. The STAR centre from the Keighley Campus of Leeds City College will be hosting a marquee where children can build rockets, test drive miniature all-terrain buggies, and have their faces painted.

To celebrate 90 years of the British Legion, there is a free family fun day tomorrow in and around the Arts Centre in Bingley, running from 11am to 4pm. There will a climbing tower, military display and many more attractions, plus a grand prize draw with the first prize of £100.

Medical herbalist Jane Ramsden will be giving tours of the herb gardens at East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley to mark Herbal Medicine Week. The walks, next Saturday and Sunday, start at 10.30am.

If you’ve always wanted to know how to take really great pictures, then a free half-day photography workshop may be right up your street. Bracken Hall in Baildon is running a session for adults from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, led by Nigel Hillier. Booking for next Saturday’s event is essential. Telephone (01274) 584140.

Harewood House has plenty going on, including next Saturday, from 2pm to 4.30pm, when you can spend an hour in the grounds seeing fantastic red kites in action after a talk by Doug Simpson, the project officer for the release programme.
