8:34am Thursday 7th August 2008 in Takeaways By Emma Clayton
It’s not often I treat myself to a pizza but, after working late and running several errands after leaving the office, it was well into the evening and too late to cook.
I spotted Clancy’s by chance. It’s a clean, spacious takeaway and I was served by a polite, efficient man with an Italian accent who appeared to be doing all the cooking too. He said there’d be a 15-minute wait, which was fine, so I was pleasantly surprised when my pizza arrived in less than ten minutes. I ordered a Tuna Delight 11-inch thin crust pizza (£5.50) which was delicious, topped with a generous layer of cheese, tuna, sweetcorn and onions. I had a few slices left over to eat cold the next day.
Other pizza choices included seafood, cheese feast and Italian meatball. There are extra toppings available, along with stuffed crust.
The menu also included burgers, pasta dishes, children’s choices, kebabs, chilli, southern-fried chicken and a ‘Mexican Corner’ with tortillas and fries.
A varied range of food, well-cooked, reasonably-priced and efficiently served.
