Dark Star
Hophead Dark Star is a brewery in deepest West Sussex – Ansty, near Haywards Heath is the location favoured for the brewing of what, in ancient advertising, would be described as “ales of distinction”.
Hophead is a golden-coloured bitter with a fruity and hoppy aroma.
It has a bitter citrus taste and aftertaste (no, really, that’s good). The flavours remain strong to the end. That is why we say that it “fights above its weight”.
The boxing analogy means that this 3.8 per cent ABV beer has no right to be so tasty for so long, but it does. Aren’t brewers brilliant?
Where to find some? For once, that is an easy question to answer. Currently, it is regarded as a permanent beer at the Junction in Baildon.
