We know that the term "beyond the pale" has its roots around Dublin, but there is nothing Irish about this beer.
It is produced by that very inventive brewery in Elland, and has no relationship taste-wise with the ubiquitous jet-black stout found in far too great an amount over the water.
This beer has a strength of 4.2% ABV and is a yellow-coloured, robust, creamy beer with ripe aromas of hops and fruit. Bitterness predominates and leads to a dry, fruity and hoppy aftertaste.
It is brewed as a regular beer in Elland and can be found reasonably easily in the free trade or as a guest beer.
If it does not appear as a guest in your boozer, have a word with the gaffer and see why not.
It is heading towards the top of the list in the estimation of many people.
