BRADFORDIANS have been flooding an art exhibition with their quirky photographs, curios and stories about life in the city.

The Bradford - Pride of Place exhibition was set up to provide an alternate look at the city, focusing on the little things that make the area unique, rather than the famous landmarks.

The exhibition is run by the Caravan Gallery, two photographers who have documented numerous cities in the UK. Their work is also on display at Bradford's Impressions Gallery.

The exhibition opened last month, and since then the walls of Fuse Art Space have gradually filled up with amateur photographs, written stories about the city and post it notes featuring phrases unique to Bradford.

Jan Williams, of the Caravan Gallery, said a large mix of people had been contributing work to the gallery, including a homeless person who took in one photo now on display.

She added: "A lot of the time people come in to see the gallery, then come back with a photo or something they want to add. We had some young Muslim girls in and they were talking to us about fasting during Ramadan and have contributed some art about that."

The exhibition will be at the gallery until Saturday, when there will be a closing event from 6pm to 9pm.
