A week of musical performances is planned at RHS Garden Harlow Carr.

Visitors to the site, near Harrogate, between July 12 and 19 will be serenaded by a variety of musical events against the backdrop of the garden’s summertime splendour.

The weekend of July 12 to 13 is easy listening time, featuring locally-based jazz trio, Swing Time Jazz whose smooth sound combines saxophone, guitar and piano.

Other acts performing include classical string trio Jasmin Music, pianist Helen Leach and the Kingham And Robinson Duo, both improvisational jazz musicians from Leeds College of Music.

A highlight of the week is the chance to take a picnic and enjoy an outdoor performance of light-hearted romantic opera Don Pasquale, performed in English on the evening of July 15.

On Saturday, July 19, there’s Children’s Music Day taking place in conjunction with Harrogate International Festival. Youngsters can try African and Samba drumming, as well a ‘Junk Music’ workshop which involves making instruments out of recycled materials and learning how to play the didgeridoo!
