This is how the new Hyundai new Santa Fe will appear when it goes on sale later this year.

The model will be given its world debut at the New York Motor Show in April and will later be rolled out across the globe.

A company spokesman said: “Hyundai will keep the name Santa Fe for the new vehicle, continuing the solid brand heritage of the automaker’s most representative SUV model.

“The all-new Santa Fe, which is entering its third generation, has reached worldwide cumulative sales of about 2.56 million units since its 2000 debut.”

The new model heralds a new design philosophy called Storm Edge which is said to capture the ‘strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm’.

The third-generation Santa Fe looks different and classier than the current model. The design adopts the hexagonal grille – a key design cue of the Hyundai family look – and wider front and rear bumpers.

Hyundai say the Santa Fe is expected to be a hit in the global SUV market.

Established in 1967, Hyundai is now ranked as the world’s fifth-largest motor manufacturer since 2007. Hyundai Motor UK has been named Best Car Manufacturer 2011 by Which? magazine and Car Franchise of the Year by Motor Trader in 2010 and 2011.

Meanwhile, the new generation i30 has gone on sale from £14,995. It has ‘Blue Drive’ technologies standard on all 1.6 CRDi manuals with CO2 emissions from just 97g/km and fuel economy up to 76.3mpg.

Prices span £14,495 to £20,795, offering a line-up of four engines (two petrol and two diesels) with five power outputs ranging from 90 to 128ps and four trim levels - Classic, Active, Style and Style Nav.

Hyundai says it is committed to developing clean diesel technologies. The new 1.6-litre diesel unit, featuring Intelligent ‘Stop & Go’ technologies, delivers an impressive power to efficiency ratio, providing an output of 128ps and emissions of just 100g/km. This will make this model one of the most efficient vehicles in the C-segment.

New Generation i30 is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor – generating sportier exterior proportions. Overall length is increased by 20 mm (to 4,300 mm), width is enlarged by 5mm (to 1,780 mm) and height has been reduced by 10mm (to 1,470 mm). Tony Whitehorn, president and chief executive officer of Hyundai Motor UK, said: “The new generation i30 represents another leap forward in terms of Hyundai’s design, refinement and build quality.”

The i30 was recently announced as Car of the Year 2012 by leading car review website, CarBuyer.
