WITH many schools breaking up for the Easter holidays, and one week to go until Good Friday, a number of attractions around the district are holding Easter-themed family events.

From egg hunts to Easter parades, there is plenty going on for people of all ages.

This weekend, the Broadway centre is holding an Easter family weekend, with a series of chocolate-themed events throughout the centre.

There will be a pop-up screening of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a crafts area for children to make Easter-themed treats, a trail around the centre, and the chance to ride the Chocolate Easter Express. It will run from 11am to 5pm each day.

Easter egg hunts will also be taking place around the district.

East Riddlesden Hall is holding egg hunts for children of all ages across the Easter weekend, costing £2 per child with under fives going free. General admission prices apply.

The Nell Bank Centre in Ilkley is holding an egg hunt on Good Friday, April 14, from 10am to 2pm, costing £2 per child.

There will also be an Easter Monday hunt at Harold Park in Low Moor from 11am to 1pm. Entry is free, and there will also be a bonnet competition at 12pm.

East Riddlesden Hall will also be holding Easter themed activities throughout the Easter break, including the tradition of wassailing the hall’s apple trees. Events at the hall are free, but normal admission fees apply.

On Good Friday, the traditional Easter Parade is taking place at Menston Recreation Ground. The walk is free to join and sets off at 11am.

On Easter Saturday, the Easter Bunny will be visiting Northcliffe Woods in Shipley from 12.30pm to 3pm, based near the miniature railway.

Also, Shipley Glen Tramway in Baildon will be holding a bunny hunt and a treasure hunt throughout the weekend.

Bradford Council is holding sports and dance camps at Richard Dunn and Zara sport centres during the holidays.

There will also be Easter-themed events taking place at libraries around the district throughout the holidays.

Coun Sarah Ferriby, executive member for environment, sport and culture, said: “There are plenty of fun activities taking place in our libraries throughout the district during the Easter holidays.

“There’s something for everyone to enjoy and we hope people will come down to their local library to see what is on offer.”
