FOUR days of celebrations are planned for The Broadway's grand opening.

Tomorrow, X Factor star Alexandra Burke will cut the ribbon for the centre's main entrance, facing onto Little Germany, at 10am.

Simultaneously, community champions will open the two other entrances.

Professor David Sharpe and Ajay Mahajan from the University of Bradford's world-renowned Bradford Burns Unit will join Bradford City FC winger Filipe Morais and manager Phil Parkinson in opening the entrance at Charles Street.

The burns unit was set up in the aftermath of the Valley Parade fire disaster in 1985, in which 56 people were killed and more than 250 injured.

And Girlington couple Karam and Kartari Chand, believed to have the world's longest marriage, will cut the ribbon at the mall's Market Street entrance.

The couple were married in a Sikh ceremony in the Punjab in 1925 during the height of the British Raj.

Throughout the day tomorrow, a big stage in the shopping centre will host football skills demonstrations courtesy of Bradford City FC, dance performances by South Asian arts organisation Kala Sangam, fashion shows and presentations.

On Friday, a fashion catwalk will run at various times from 11am to 6pm, showcasing the designs on offer in the centre's shops.

On Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be able to enter competitions to win various prizes.

A pop-up cinema will also be showing a range of Disney films for children at the weekend. The movies will begin at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The Broadway's Christmas opening hours until December 23 will be Monday to Saturday from 9am to 9pm and Sunday, 11am to 5pm.
