THE first summer fair held on the grounds of a Bradford primary school was a huge success, raising over £1,000 for the school.
The Parent Teacher Association of Lidget Green Primary School decided to run the fair as a school fundraiser and to bring the community together, and hundreds of people came to the school grounds to celebrate the start of summer holidays.
One of the guests was the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Joanne Dodds.
Children enjoyed a bouncy castle, giant inflatable slide and games, and many parents brought food to share with.
Rachel Flynn, of the PTA, said it was a great turnout despite poor weather, and that the event will become an annual fixture in the school calendar.
She said: "It went really well and we had so many people come in over the course of the day. It will definitely be happening every year. There were a lot of people from the wider community as well as families that attend the school."
