HAWORTH took the bold step of mixing Christian and pagan traditions to mark the festive season with its annual Scroggling the Holly children's parade.
The child-focused event saw the village centre packed with families out to watch this year's Holly Queen crowned on the steps of the parish church - a ceremony deemed the moment which allows the Christmas season into the village.
Children and adults dressed in costume for the event and were joined by the Oakworth Morris Men for a parade up the village's Main Street ahead of the ceremony.
Brass bands added to the atmosphere and although the village basked in winter sunshine, Haworth was able to generate its own dose of 'snow' to add to the festivities.
