Comic Stewart Lee is kicking off a season of comedy at the West Yorkshire Playhouse this month.

Voted 41st in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-ups, Stewart has appropriated this statistic and used it as the title of his new show, 41st Best Stand Up Ever. It comes to the Playhouse on February 24.

The Courtyard Comedy Club will be hosted by Leeds-based comedian, musician and writer Silky.

Each session will include performances from two well-established headliners, as well as a selection of the region's finest rising talent.

The next session of the Comedy Club, on May 11, features Tony Law. Half Canadian, half Trini-dadian, his infectious comedy is delivered with a laid-back approach, combining scorching jokes and incisive remarks.
