A Bradford College student is starring in a new film of Shakespeare’s Richard II.
The movie, now being shot in the region, is being made by the British Youth Film Academy (BYFA).
Jack Davis, who attends the Bradford School of Arts and Media, is playing the lead role in the big screen version of Shakespeare’s dark history play. Also involved are fellow Bradford College students Abi Chilton, Becky Chilton, Nicole Holt and Sophie Kelly.
Jack beat hundreds of hopefuls to be cast in the film based on the life of King Richard II.
He said: “I couldn’t believe it when the director rang me and told me I had the main part. He said, ‘You’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of you’. It’s still sinking in!
“Through school I wasn’t great, then I came here and I think I just found myself again.”
