Ninety-one-year-old Liverpool artist Cyril Mount donated paintings, drawings and gouaches to Bradford University’s Peace Studies department.
For the next few weeks, an exhibition of these works will be displayed at the university’s Gallery II.
A former British soldier who served on many fronts in the Second World War, he said recently: “My feeling is that those of us blessed with this ability must, when necessary, use it to draw attention to the cruelty, injustices and horror and futility of war, and ruffle the feathers of those responsible – corrupt capitalism and religions.”
* Ruffling Feathers is on until March 25. Gallery II is open Monday to Friday, 11am to 5pm (Thursdays until 6pm). Admission is free.
