Thornton village is the subject of a forthcoming exhibition at Thornton’s South Square Gallery.
Arts graduate Rupert Clamp was commissioned to spend two months exploring the village’s bricked-up doorways and windows, the snickets and byways between the stone houses, and come up with new artworks.
He talked with local groups and passers-by, collecting individual descriptions and directions in his quest to map the pathways through the village.
The results of his psycho-geographical excursions, Ten Yards Lane, can be seen at the gallery from July 3 to August 1.
- The South Square Gallery is open from noon until 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
