THE Summer Bands series returns to the parks of Leeds this month, hosting entertainment from the region’s best brass, jazz and concert bands.

The arrival of the Summer Bands in Leeds Parks series marks the beginning of summer at Leeds International Concert Series, and this year is the biggest series yet.

Every Sunday from May until the end of September, the parks and bandstands of the city will resound to the music of local brass, jazz and concert bands with the Summer Bands in Leeds Parks series.

Concerts are from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and are absolutely free*.

The 2018 series includes over 100 concerts with over 50 different ensembles performing. World-fusion merchants of musical mayhem Bassa Bassa and the outstanding jazz ensemble After Hours Quintet perform in the series, as well as Wakefield Metropolitan Band and many more fantastic brass local brass bands – there really is something for everyone in this series.

The 32 parks involved include: Alwoodley Village Green, The Arium (Leeds Parks Nursery), Beckett, Bramley, Burley, Canal Gardens in Roundhay Park, Chapel Allerton, Dartmouth – Morley, Farnley Hall, Gledhow Valley Woods, Golden Acre, Hainsworth, Horsforth Hall, Lotherton Hall, Meanwood, Middleton, New Farnley Recreation Ground, New Wortley Recreation Ground, Norma Hutchinson, Pudsey, Roundhay Park, Tarnfield – Yeadon, Temple Newsam, Victoria Park – Calverley, Western Flatts Cliff – Wortley, West Park Fields, Westroyd Park – Farsley, Wetherby, and Wharfemeadows Park – Otley.

No matter where you live in Leeds or the surrounding area, there will be a concert nearby this summer.
