IMAGINE - it's a beautiful summer's day. You've enjoyed your breakfast on the balcony while admiring the views over the stunning gardens to Baildon Moor. Now it's time for some gentle exercise, but no need to head for the gym because a few steps away, through the patois doors is your own heated swimming pool.

Sounds like a dream? Well it needn't be if you are the owners of Glenhaven, a four bedroom home delightfully situated in a little known backwater.

The current owners have lived here for 14 happy years. "We fell in love with the lovely airy, and light ambience of the living areas and of course, the pool.

"It was built by an ex-neighbour of ours who now lives in Baildon, approximately 40 years ago."

The house was in good condition! but it did need updating and decorating. The new owners installed a new fully tiled bathroom with a marble floor, whirlpool bath and a modern sink.

"We put in a new kitchen with granite worktops. All the appliances have been replaced, double fan oven, ceramic five ring hob, integrated microwave/convection oven, in built dishwasher and fridge/freezer.

"The floor in the kitchen and dining room have been replaced with high quality laminate flooring. All the carpets have been replaced and all the rooms redecorated.

"We also put in anew fireplace in the upstairs lounge with a pine surround and cast iron inset."

Beautifully presented and deceptively spacious, Glenhaven has four bedroom, oil fired central heating and double glazing.

Built over two flours, on the ground floor is a dining room with a beamed ceiling, lounge with open fire and patio doors out on to a charming balcony overlooking the pool and garden and a modern dining kitchen.

Also on the ground floor is the master bedroom with a range of fitted furniture a cane -suite shower room and the bathroom with quality suite.

On the lower ground floor, off the hallway, are two bedrooms, both overlooking the gardens, a shower room, utility or second kitchen and a lounge or fourth bedroom with a laminate floor, access door to the garden and patio doors out to the terrace near the pool.

MORE FROM PROPERTY OF THE WEEK

The configuration of Glenhaven makes it a versatile home ideal for a family, or perhaps one with a dependent relative.

"Our favourite room is the upstairs lounge, there is access to the balcony from here and I usually sit out there to take breakfast.

"The swimming pool is open every summer, usually from April/May and closed through the winter months. The pool has been great fun and we have held many pool parties over the years. It was ideal for my two daughters when they were growing up and so nice for them to invite their friends home for a swim.

The gardens are beautifully presented, backing on to The Glen and woodland, with lawns, flowerbeds, trees, a seating area, summerhouse/changing area, two rooms and a shower area.

"There is an extensive patio area at the rear of the garden, which we put in. It was a sheer drop down to the moor before that! This area is great for barbecues.

"We will miss the space, the pool, the tranquillity and exclusivity of the area and the views."
