Dacre Son & Hartley, which has an office in Skipton has been ranked seventh in a league table of the top 20 estate agents in the UK by the Daily Telegraph and is the only firm in the north of England to be selected for the highly-prestigious ranking.

The list, which discounts national companies, aims to find Britain’s best agents that operate in specific geographical areas, utilise innovative online marketing techniques and go the extra mile for their clients. The judges looked at how contenders live up to their promises, assessed rapport with local communities and took feedback from the general public.

Employing around 160 staff and with a turnover of approximately £6.5 million, the firm has been established in Yorkshire for more than 190 years.

Patrick McCutcheon, chairman of Dacres Residential commented: “To be recognised in this league is a major coup for the firm and the fact we are the only firm in the north of England to be included makes it even more of an achievement.

“The outstanding efforts and professionalism of our experienced local staff and the loyalty of our valued clients has also played a huge role in our continued success. Alongside our traditional values, commitment to having a local presence and good honest Yorkshire sense, we have an unrivalled online presence and are continually developing our website in order to provide the best customer experience. It’s heartening that we have been recognised in this way and we are very proud of the recognition.”
