Itinerary

Day One

Fly to Vancouver to spend two nights in one of the world's most beautiful cities.

Day Two

Join this morning's optional guided city tour and discover restored Gastown, colourful Chinatown, and Vancouver's spectacular waterfront. Cross over the Lion's Gate Bridge into the leafy suburbs of 'North Van' and take the cable car to the summit of Grouse Mountain to brave the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge - the world's longest suspended public walkway.

Day Three

Cross the strait to Vancouver Island, today, and head to the unashamedly 'British' capital of British Columbia, charming Victoria. See the Royal B.C. Museum, vast Parliament Buildings and grand Empress Hotel, and visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens, where over a million plants and several hundred floral species are displayed.

Day Four

Enjoy this morning's optional 'Whale Watch' cruise, perhaps spotting orca, killer, humpback and grey whales in their natural environment. This afternoon you'll head to sea again, crossing into the United States for a night in Port Angeles, gateway to magnificent Olympic National Park.

Day Five

Today we'll drive through the forested beauty of Olympic National Park, past magnificent Lake Crescent, heading west and south to the Pacific Ocean and the classic beach resort of Ocean Shores.

Day Six

Head inland this morning, then south through beautiful Pacific Northwest scenery past Mount St Helens, to the beautiful, European-style city of Portland, Oregon - your base for the next two nights.

Day Seven

This morning's tour introduces the easygoing city that marked the end of the hazardous Oregon Trail for countless pioneers. Lovingly preserved, Portland's highlights include historic Pioneer Courthouse Square, the Waterfront Park on the Williamette River and the colourful Pearl District. Gardeners will love the International Rose Test Garden, and all will delight in the views from restored Pittock Mansion. This afternoon, relax in this very relaxed city.

Day Eight

Journey east from Portland into the Columbia River Valley, with its cascades, maple forests and mountain vistas, travelling via the riverfront town of Hood River to Seattle, in its beautiful setting on Elliot Bay.

Day Nine

This morning, take an optional excursion with a difference, boarding a WW2 amphibious vehicle to explore on land and water, followed by a visit to Seattle's towering Space Needle. This afternoon, make the most of your stay and explore this charming city.

Day 10

Today you'll bid farewell to Seattle and make the journey back north towards Canada, heading to Vancouver Airport and the overnight flight back to the UK.

Day 11

Arrive back in the UK, at the end of a wonderful Pacific Northwest adventure.
