Itinerary

Day One

Fly to Toronto and transfer to your first hotel for a three-night stay. This evening, step outside - or remain in the climate controlled comfort of the city's 27-kilometre PATH interconnected shopping and entertainment system - to begin to explore.

Day Two

This morning, join our optional guided city tour for an insight into one of North America's most delightful cities. Highlights of the tour include Chinatown, Victorian Cabbagetown and stylish Yorkville.

Day Three

Today's unforgettable included excursion is to the incredible Niagara Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Take in the unforgettable views on an optional 10-minute helicopter ride, and perhaps join us for lunch with a view at The Sheraton on the Falls Penthouse Fallsview Dining Room.

Day Four

This morning we follow the 'Maple Leaf Trail' to romantic Ottawa, Canada's beautiful administrative capital, with its Victorian houses and famous Rideau Canal, set against the leafy background of the Gatineau Hills. After a chance to explore, you'll continue to the great French Canadian province of Quebec, and to Montreal, Canada's second city. Enjoy a three-night stay in this, the country's undisputed centre of style and sophistication.

Day Five

Get to know Montreal on our optional guided city tour, which will take in the Vieux Port area and the lively Plateau Mont Royal, with its countless shops, bars and restaurants. This evening, step back in time and dine in the style of a bygone century by joining our optional Maple Delights and dinner in Old Montreal excursion.

Day Six

Visit charming, historic Quebec City, one of Canada's oldest settlements, with its stunning Chateau Frontenac, ancient ramparts and UNESCO-listed centre, overlooking the mighty St Lawrence River. Enjoy an optional walking tour to discover this wonderful city, before returning to Montreal to spend a final evening soaking up the atmosphere.

Day Seven

Journey back to Ontario, making your way to Toronto Airport for your overnight flight home.

Day Eight

Arrive back home, after an overnight flight.

Changes to itineraries

Departures on 12th May, 18th June, 17th, 23rd and 25th September, and 24th October 2013 will spend the first night in Niagara Falls followed by two nights in Toronto (as opposed to three nights in Toronto). Departures from September 2014 will spend two nights in Niagara Falls and one night in Toronto (as opposed to three nights in Toronto). Tour content will be the same although in a slightly different order.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted on any coach forming part of your holiday; regular stops will be made though for your comfort en route. The majority of hotels in North America are non-smoking throughout including in all bedrooms. In general smoking outside is acceptable, but do look out for signs prohibiting this close to public entrances or bus stops.

Tipping

Gratuities are a way of life in North America, and it is generally accepted that they form part of a person's earnings. Customary gratuity to a coach driver or tour manager is about $5 per person per day; in a taxi or a restaurant leave 12-15 per cent of the bill and, in the bar, leave a dollar or so per drink.
