SIR - I am heartened by the increasing backlash against our perennial `hobby letter writers’ who appear to have a daily, and sometimes twice daily, opportunity to espouse their boring one-eyed politics.

There must be a certain arrogance involved in assuming their views are so relevant for the readership to swallow, and when the selective `copy-paste’ paragraphs are inserted it becomes quite hilarious.

Bob Watson is, of course, correct to encourage a greater variety of letter writers, and it would indeed be quite a novelty if our `hobby writers’ could actually talk about Bradford once in a while. There are enough `red hot potato’ issues in our fine city to keep even the most rabid writer in clover.

From being the `must read’ feature of latter days- the Letters to the Editor page is now a predictable dirge monopolised by a small band of biased individuals.
